Desa Potato Head included in The World’s 50 Best Hotels awards

This one means a lot.

We’re blown away to learn that we’ve been included in ‘The World’s 50 Best Hotels awards’.

The 50 Best lists represent a benchmark for quality in hospitality. This is the first year the group have included a list of hotels among their awards, adding the category to the trusted rundowns of bars and restaurants they’ve been highlighting for the last 20 years.

As the name suggests, the prestigious award showcases the world’s most exceptional hotels, highlighting their commitment to service, design, and guest experiences.

Our entry into the hotel industry began just seven years ago when we opened our Suites (formerly Katamama) in 2016, followed by Studios three years later. As a small (but growing) independent organisation, we know our journey is just beginning, so to be included among such a distinguished group of hotels is truly humbling.

We built Desa Potato Head to be a place of possibility, our attempt at redefining hospitality while flipping the script on the notion that tourism equals waste. We believe with the right intention, tourism can be a force for positive change instead of destruction. We know we don’t have all the answers, but it feels good to be working together to find solutions.

The World’s 50 Best Hotels list is selected by a group of more than 580 independent leaders chosen for their expert knowledge of the international hotel scene. Being recognised by the industry feels like such an honour. We couldn’t have done it without the extended Potato Head family, so we’d like to take this opportunity to say a big terima kasih to all of you.
