The Barong Sahadewa cultural studio was established and inaugurated on April 1, 1972, called “BARONG SAHADEWA” by I Dewa Nyoman Oka (1923-1999). It has more than 40 years experiences of presenting a variety of traditional Balinese dance performance. Regular performances are held at the stage located nearby the Karawitan Indonesia – Bali High School campus. With the concept of the open-stage with a natural background as the trademark of this studio. However, to maintain the condition of the show remains conducive during the rainy season indoor stage facility is also prepared.
Experienced dance artists and percussionists support the show. They are incorporated in the association of Indonesian Tourism Object “PUTRI”. Organizing performances regularly: Barong dan Keris dance drama takes Kunti Seraya’s story, about the eternal rivalry between virtue and evil.
A Spectacular Balinese Dance created by Jelantik and The Performance Maestro “I Made Sidia” Made Sidia has been known worldwide for his stage and puppet performances. He won The Best Drama Award for International Puppet Weeks festival (China, 1 – 7 June 2014). Performed by professional Balinese Dancers, this dance offers very special Balinese entertainment while you are in Bali.
The dance show is rich and colourful, the performers youthful and energetic. Everyone has a wonderful time, and so does the audience. The costumes, lighting and dancing were first class. Particularly fun for children it has some English to help the story along and bring out the humour.
Jimbaran, a bay in the area just south of Kuta, is famous for seafood. It is a center for Bali’s fisherman, and home to the island’s biggest fish market. If you eat top-quality local seafood in southern Bali, it was probably originally bought at Jimbaran. Because of this, the area has also become home to a very long stretch of beachfront restaurants, ranging from very basic to more elegant, which offer seafood of all types at the cheapest prices around.
Nice beach, peaceful place, beautiful view during sunset at 5-7 PM. There are a few good restaurants nearby serving good local dishes and seafood. Come on low tide and get all your photos on the swing. Park yourself in front of any restaurant and watch the tide sweep in with crystal clear water. You can also have the opportunity to take a photo on a swing located by the shore.
Kubu Beach is a new hidden beach located next to Ayana Resort Jimbaran. There is no proper access to get into the beach; you will need to hike and to trek through woods, swamp, rocks, and few steps in the beach area. Following the signboards is the important keys to avoid you getting lost.
Kubu beach is relatively new being discovered as the photo of its natural formation of arc has become a sensation in social media. You need to walk for about 30 minutes from the parking area to get into the beach. This is actually a private beach, but some explorers have made it possible for outsiders to get into the beach without having to stay in the resort nearby.
You can’t swim in this beach as the wave is too strong and there are many sharp reefs and rocks by the beach. People come here to enjoy the view, taking photos and relaxing under the sun.
A low-key beach with fewer mobs although it is starting to become more popular due to the increasing number of casual watering holes and small restaurants– Pererenan is just a few hundred meters away from Echo Beach. It is mostly about surfers riding the
waves. The sea is not really suitable for swimming but it is a nice place to just chill, drink some coconut water or perhaps a beer and enjoy the view.
Pererenan is visited mostly by international tourists and expats. Despite the close distance from Seminyak, Pererenan holds a more Balinese rural feeling.

Meet the rare ghost pipefish and the mimic octopus
The Jemeluk bay suffered once from the harvesting of hard coral in the 1980’s and the severe coral bleaching in April-May 1998. The hard corals were badly damaged. But in the recent years they have recovered steadily. Nowadays the coral gardens in the eastern part of the bay are in a perfect condition and maybe the most prolific in Bali. It is a perfect place for night diving and macro observation.
Medewi is a laid back beach town in Jembrana region, about two hours drive from Canggu. Everything is pretty much basic in the area; most people come here for a specific reason SURFING. It has a rocky beach with a peaceful vibes and famous for its long left-handed waves, that can be up to half a kilometre long.
The best waves come from the south and southwest swell, and southeast or northwest winds most of the time can be too much to handle. Medewi is recommended for intermediate and advanced surfers. Be careful with sharp reefs and urchins—the best time to visit is between April and October. Don’t worry about accommodations; there are many surf camps nearby the beach and most of them provide good packages for surf trips too.
