Medewi is a sleepy beach town about two hours’ drive from Canggu in the Jembrana region. In this area, most people come for one reason only: to go surfing. It has a rocky beach and is well-known for its long lefts, which can reach up to 5 feet (1.5 meters).
South and southwest swells produce the best waves, while southeast and northwest winds are often too strong to surf in. Best time to surf is between April and October. Be careful riding over the reefs and avoid stepping on the sea urchins. Don’t fret over where to lay your head at night; there are plenty of surf camps in close proximity to the beach, and many of them offer affordable surf trip packages.

Our beach house is located in Medewi West Bali, a small village whose majority of the population works as farmers and fishermen. And the most important waves in Medewi is the longest waves in Bali is perfect for beginners and advance level.

Beginner Surf Lessons Our lessons are max 2 to 3 hours in the water and include all equipment. Beginner surf lessons will start with a 30 minute instruction on the beach,You will paddle together, with your surf instructor there to help you and guide you the whole time, all our guides are experience and qualifications. Also our session maximum 2 guest 1 guide not more than that, we want to make sure our guest is safe in the water and having fun.

Advanced Surf Lessons around Medewi we have more than 5 surfsport, Surf instructor will choose the surf spot with the best conditions for your surfing skill level, then tell you all about the spot(rock, reefs, current). Once you paddle out together they will help you to improve your skill by wave judgment and surfing technique, and give you some andvice and tips how to make better maneuver

Welcome to Brown Sugar Surf Camp, Bali’s one and only surf camp & surf school located directly at the beach – a tranquil oasis from surfers for surfers. Our retreat is located in Medewi, an idyllic fishing village on Bali’s west coast, far away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta’s overcrowded surf spots.

We offer surf lessons for beginners, intermediates and advanced surfers in small groups, with 11 surf sessions from Monday to Saturday. Brown Sugar Beach Break is right in front of our camp and perfect for beginners. For the more intermediate and advanced surfers, our home spot Medewi Point offers Bali´s legendary longest left. Our English-speaking surf guides know a dozen first class surfspots within a 30 mins drive, and will always pick the best spot according to swell conditions and your surfing level.
