For instance, you’ll start with beginner yoga sequences and tutorials on foundational yoga poses then receive personalized feedback from the instructor, you’ll meet other yogis in your community, and you’ll learn more about the practice from those around you. These are all important benefits, and they’re benefits that shouldn’t be ignored or taken lightly.
YIN (For everyone)
Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga as exercise with asanas (postures) that are held for longer periods of time—for beginners, it may range from two to five minutes; more advanced practitioners may stay in one asana for ten minutes or more.
Yin Yoga poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body—the tendons, fascia, and ligaments—with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. A more meditative approach to yoga, its goals are awareness of inner silence, and bringing to light a universal, interconnecting quality, release deep held tension, emotion and resistance.
It is a wonderful balance to a Yang (Vinyasa/Hatha) practice.
Restorative Yoga (For everyone)
A very gentle and relaxing yoga where practitioners essentially rest in every soft pose with the help of props. This is a great practice to relax the muscles and restore one’s self.
Great for all levels, including beginners.
Hatha (All levels)
Hatha is the traditional form of yoga in which postures are practiced to align, strengthen and promote flexibility in the body. Breathing techniques and meditation are also commonly practiced.
Gentle flow (All levels)
Gentle yoga classes are typically described as appropriate for those who want a softer, nurturing, slow-paced, well-supported and relaxing practice, combine with a graceful vinyasa flow sequenced to keep you moving intellectually in your body, energizing you mentally and physically for the remainder of your day.
This is a 75 minutes Gentle Yoga class that provides a safe, effective, compassionate, non-competitive environment that is welcoming to all.
Vinyasa Flow (All levels)
Vinyasa is a type of yoga that links movement and breath to attain balance in the mind and body. From the Sanskrit “to place in a special way,” vinyasa aligns a deliberate sequence of poses with the breath to achieve a continuous flow. Inhalation is usually connected to upward, open movements, while exhalation is often tied to downward movements or twists.
The variable nature of Vinyasa Yoga helps to develop a more balanced body as well as prevent repetitive motion injuries that can happen if you are always doing the same thing every day.
Yin & Yang (All levels)
Yin & Yang yoga blends two styles of yoga into one practice.
Bringing together the benefits of passively holding yoga poses with more dynamic sequences and standing postures.
Vinyasa for Core strength (Intermediate)
Dynamic classes linking breath with movement, strength, and flexibility, through intelligent sequencing of challenging asana (postures) creating more focus and presence in our lives. Students benefit from the encouragement of the teacher and the class, finding their own edge between challenge and acceptance. This class focuses on core muscles.
Power Yoga (Intermediate – Advance)
Coordination of movement and breath with Vinyasa Flow (Halfway push up, upward facing dog, downward facing dog) repeated throughout the practice between each static posture. Has qualities and benefits including internal heat, increased stamina, strength, balance and flexibility, as well as stress reduction
