FAQ

When do I need to apply for the extension

It is strongly recommended that you apply your Visa Extension 2 weeks before your current visa expires. Business hours are Monday – Friday from 9.00am – 5.00pm (closed on Indonesian Public Holidays). Indonesian Immigration office does not work during the weekends, and there could be delays due to unforeseen circumstances based on governmental changes of regulations.

What do I need to apply for an extension of my current Visa?

You must have received your first e-visa with us, because the extension is directly linked to that visa and the sponsorship regulations.

Your passport should be still valid for 12 months.

Check your expiry date of your current visa and make sure that latest 2 weeks prior to its expiry, you email us at visa@bali.com so we can process the booking and payment details.

Once we have received payment, we will hand in your application to the immigration office for your visa extension.

Make sure that you have an active WhatsApp number.

Do I have to be present at the Immigration Office?

Yes, you have to be present for the first extension of your B211A visit / business / social visa. If you apply for an additional extension, then it’s enough to handover your passport to our visa partner.

You have to go to the appointed Immigration Office (either in Denpasar or Jimbaran) to take your picture and scan your fingerprint once your visa extension application has been approved by the Immigration Office.

Important dress code – Smart Casual: Collar / polo shirt and long pants (with shoes), no short, sleeveless shirts, flip-flops, beach wear.

How long is the extension valid?

Each extension is valid for 30 (thirty) days. And you can extend your business/social visa for up to 4 times so that means you can extend your stay in Bali for up to 180 days in total, including your first visa.

Can I travel freely within Indonesia with my Visa?

Yes. The Visa is valid for entire Indonesia. If you intend to travel however, be aware that for the extensions you need to start the extension process 2 weeks before the visa expires. For that you need to hand in your passport, which may hinder your plans. The first visa extension requires you also to personally come to the immigration office in Bali to take your fingerprints and a photo.

Can I extend my e-Visa outside Bali?

We strongly advise that you extend your e-visa in Bali at the Immigration Office either in Denpasar or Jimbaran.

If you are currently staying outside of Bali, be sure to get in touch with us as soon as possible by sending us an email at: visa@bali.com

We will do our best to assist you in providing these extra services because the extension process outside of Bali can get complicated. The process involves confidential paperwork and third-party agencies (currently, these agencies are only available in: Jakarta and Lombok – different costs may be applied).
