Technically Yes. Anybody with a passport from a “calling visa country” can apply.
However, Applicants for a “Calling-Visa”
- need to first get authorization from authorities in Indonesia such as: Immigration Department, Police HQ Department, Intelligence Service Department (approval letter).
A reliable and competent visa agent can assist you with the authorization and application process and appoint a guarantor in Indonesia.
The total cost to obtain a Calling Visa can be anywhere between 3000 to 5,000 USD.
The reason for such a price tag is, that a traveler would need the assistance of an immigration agent / lawyer handling the auhorization process, which involves to deal with several departments within the Indonesian government. And, the agent has to appoint a guarantor in Indonesia, which takes on significant legal obligations in case something goes wrong. This guarantor would have to attend a face to face meeting in Jakarta with the immigration authorities as part of the approval process and will take legal and financial responsibility which needs to be taken into consideration.
This is the usual process to apply for a calling visa for Indonesia:
- Submit the required documents to a visa agent / lawyer
- The visa agency / lawyer validates the documents and information
- You will receive an invoice and pay a non-refundable deposit to initiate the process
- You will be invited for an online interview by the immigration agent / lawyer and their legal team through Google Meet/Zoom. The meeting will be recorded
- After the interview, the agent will quote you the final price and you will be required to pay the remaining balance
- The agent will start with the process, secure the guarantor once the payment is received and engage with the relevant immigration authorities and request the visa authorization letter
- After around 14 business days, the Indonesian. guarantor / sponsor will personally have to go to Jakarta for a face to face interview conducted by the Indonesian authorities .
- After the interview, in around 14-21 business days, the immigration officer will take the final decision whether the visa application is approved.
If approved, your visa will be sent to your email (in PDF) and you can enter into Indonesia and stay for maximum 60 days. That Visa is not extendable.
