Price Level: $Pemuteran Beach has the rustic feel of a place; it has marvellous volcanic sand and stunning view of hills nearby. A few front beach hotels are serving good food and drinks, and there are lots of opportunities for snorkelling, diving and more. Although it’s not a long beach, if you’re happy to climb over some rocks, it’s long enough for a leisurely 1 to 1.5-hour walk and the same back. The beach is quiet, but unfortunately, it can be very dirty during the rainy season. Read more...

Price Level: $Lovina beach is a thin line of black sand, which can be accessed by small roads and alleys or from beachfront hotels. As Lovina is in a sheltered cove, it is very safe for swimming, and there are rarely any waves or currents. In some areas, snorkelling and diving can be done right off the beach. One of Lovina’s major attractions is dolphins and boats run regularly from the beach on dolphin sighting trips, which are best done at sunrise or sunset. The many local jukung (outrigger canoes) at Lovina add to its scenic beauty. The busier nature of the area also means, however, that the beach can be quite dirty at times. Read more...

Price Level: $Bias Tugel also known as White Sand Beach near Candidasa and Padangbai. The approach to the beach goes through private property and local neighbourhood. There are a few people selling trinkets and offering massages but not as hard as in Kuta. The water is crystal clear with a small surf, and while the sand is not entirely white, it is certainly clean, and well looked after. There are several fishing boats at the start of the beach, which we can hire to go out visiting nearby snorkelling and dive spots. Read more...
