One of Bali’s tallest waterfalls with a height of nearly 40 meters, Gitgit Waterfall is surrounded by the lush untouched natural jungle.
The location is pretty remote (up in the north part of Bali) and requires heavy driving from most of the tourist areas in the south like Kuta, Seminyak, and Canggu (more than two hours drive). Like most waterfalls in Bali, you will need to do some trekking for about 15 minutes from the parking spot.
The rivers around Gitgit Waterfall are also famous for rafting. Many rafting tour operators also provide transportation service for their guests, so you don’t have to worry about reaching the site.
The cold splash of water that comes on your face bringing a whiff of fresh air, rejuvenates you instantly. Soaking in the natural pool below the falls is a fun thing to do, but it can be very risky as well.
Tips:
- Some tourists reported some issues related to scamming activity in Gitgit where they were charged a big amount of money for guide and entrance fee. When some approach you to offer a guide service or buy a ticket from them, refuse politely. Always buy directly from the official booth.
- For a better experience, we suggest you come early in the morning to avoid tourists’ flocks, especially during the weekend.
- The best time to visit is during the rainy season from January to March.
