At the closing ceremony, the organizing committee officially announced that the 12th edition of BBTF will take place on 28-30 May 2026 at the Bali International Convention Center (BICC), Nusa Dua.
The upcoming theme will be:
“Redefining Indonesia’s Gastronomy Journey: A Celebration of Taste, Culture, and Sustainable Heritage”
In 2026, BBTF will spotlight gastronomy as a force for new highlight experience—of nature, culture, and communities. Indonesia’s culinary heritage is rooted in local ecosystems and passed down through generations, offering travelers a deeper connection to the soul of the destination.
“Gastronomy is more than just taste—it’s a way to understand heritage, connect, and preserve,” said I Putu Winastra. “This theme reflects our belief that food tourism can uplift communities, support biodiversity, and create a more conscious travel experience.”
“A special highlight for next year’s agenda is the replacement of the Tourism Talkshow with a more intimate and engaging gathering. Instead of the Talkshow, the event will open with a Welcome Dinner at The Laguna, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Nusa Dua, Bali — offering a warm and elegant start to the 12th BBTF 2026” he added.
The purpose of the 2026 theme is to promote gastronomy as a driver of quality and responsible tourism. By focusing on food traditions rooted in local ecosystems and communities, BBTF 2026 aims to encourage low-impact, high-value travel, support local producers and sustainable food systems, and attract conscious travelers seeking meaningful, culturally rich experiences.
