Monday (13/9) evening, the central government of Indonesia announced that the implementation of Partial Lockdown (PPKM) status for Bali had dropped from Level 4 to Level 3. This regulation is valid from Tuesday (14/9) to Sunday (20/9).

The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan conveyed that PPKM throughout Java, Bali and other regions will continue to be enforced to mitigate the spread of the Covid-19. Weekly evaluations are also done accurately to monitor the current situation and avoid repeating the same incident in the future.

Luhut also explained that in this seventh extension of PPKM, tourist attractions are allowed to open in PPKM Level 3 areas with strict health protocols and compulsory login using the PeduliLindungi application. 

Cinemas in PPKM Level 3 and 2 regions will also be allowed to open at 50% capacity, with strict health protocols and compulsory login via the PeduliLindungi application. Only those who have been vaccinated are allowed to enter the malls and cinemas. 

Currently, the development of cases in Indonesia continues to show significant improvements. It can be seen from the declining trend of national confirmation cases to 93.9%, and specifically, in Java-Bali, it fell to 96% from the peak point on 15 July 2021.

Per 14 September 2021 (12:00 WIB), Bali has given the first jab of Covid-19 vaccines to 3,249,621 people, and 2,232,842 were fully vaccinated. More than 95% of the targeted population in Bali (ca. 3.4 million people) have received their first shot, and more than 65% have received their second jab. Leaving only about 155,509 people to receive their first immunisation. Bali authority predicts to have all of its targeted population fully vaccinated by the end of October 2021.

Latest Covid-19 statistics per Monday (13/9), 122 new infections in Bali, made total cases 110.366. Recent recoveries at 352, in total 102.739 with 15 recent deaths were reported, in total 3751. While in Indonesia, there were 2.577 new cases, pushing down the total infections to 4.170.088 with 139.165 total deaths and 3.931.227 recoveries.
