Two days after Indonesia immigration released new Visa regulations on easing the borders with several exceptions for foreign visitors on 9 February 2021. Again, by the 11 February 2021 another policy has been announced. Temporary Prohibitions for foreigners entering/transiting in Bali – Indonesia are generally have back in place. These new regulations were managed on Director General of Immigration Circular Letter Number IMI-GR.01.01-0331.

Who are ALLOWED to enter Bali – Indonesia?

1. Indonesian citizens (WNI) from abroad
2. Holders of valid Visa or Residence Permits
3. Holders of Official Visa, Diplomatic Visa, Visit Visa, Temporary Stay Visa, Official Residence Permit, Diplomatic Residence Permit, Temporary Stay Permit (ITAS) and Permanent Stay Permit (ITAP)
4. Transport crew members
5. Medical, food, and humanitarian aid workers
6. Holders of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and Business Travel Card (ABTC)
7. Holders of Traditional Border Crossing card

Transport operators must ensure every passenger has a valid certificate of negative result Covid test – Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR).

What Visas can be applied to enter Bali – Indonesia for now?

1. Single-entry Visa (B211) will be ONLY granted to foreigners for these following purposes:
   1. Emergency and essential work visit;
   2. Business meeting;
   3. Purchasing of goods or materials;
   4. Foreign workers coming for a probationary period in Indonesia companies;
   5. Medical, food, and humanitarian aid workers;
   6. Crew member of transportation services who in national vessel operating in Indonesia.
2. Temporary stay visa for working activity and non-work activity.
   1. Temporary stay visa for working activities
      1. For professional or experts;
      2. Those who join to work on ships, on vessels, or installations operating in the Indonesian maritime zone, territorial sea, continental shelf, and Indonesian Exclusive Economic Zone;
      3. Those who work on quality control of goods or products;
      4. Those who conducts workplace inspections and audit;
      5. Those who work with an aftersales service;
      6. Those who installs and repairs machine;
      7. Those who work on a non-permanent work in constructions;
      8. Those who are on probationary period for skilled jobs.
   2. Temporary stay visa for the non-work activity 
      1. Those who engage in foreign investment;
      2. Family reunion;
      3. Retirement travel.

Things you must know about Applying Bali – Indonesia Visa

• You are inquired to attach a statement letter declaring that you are willing to undertake medical treatment at the hospital in case contracted by the virus during your stay in Bali – Indonesia, at your own cost.
• Free visa facility (visa exemption) and Visa on arrival (VOA) are temporarily suspended since March 2020 until further notice. 
• Approved/ valid visas must be accompanied by a letter of recommendation from the relevant ministry/ institution and must be shown to the immigration officer upon arrival.
• Visitors from the United Kingdom (UK), Australia, Italy, and Denmark holding a valid eVisa are allowed to enter Bali – Indonesia with strict health protocols. 
• Foreign nationals who have been granted Visitor Stay Permit and have extended it four times and no exceeding 180 days, are required to apply for a new onshore visa.
• Offshore Visa Application via Indonesia Immigration website is currently unavailable.
