Petitenget temple is one of a kind Bali Hinduism temple located nearby white sandy Petitenget Beach. Behind its beauty of classical Bali architecture style of the building, this temple has a bit scary story among the locals. A long time ago the area of Petitenget was known as a haunted place, where a huge green astral creature called “Bhuta Ijo” was lived, this creature was asked to guard a magic box used as an offering box by a famous Bali ancestor. He was so loyal and protected the box a little bit too well, whoever came nearby the box were got sick after a few days because they were detected as a threat by the monster. The local asked the ancestor and suggested to build a temple in that area, then so the Petitenget temple was made, and since then no more similar incident was reported to happen again.
