Bali Welcomes More International Flights
Xiamen Airlines is set to add more direct flights from China, while Vistara and IndiGo are also increasing their services, with more details expected soon. Etihad Airways, based in the United Arab Emirates, is also set to increase its presence on Bali’s weekly flight schedule.
The increase in flight availability, particularly from China and India, marks a milestone in making Bali more accessible to tourists worldwide. Bali Airport already handles a staggering 65,000 passengers daily across 400 aircraft movements. This expansion is a testament to Bali’s enduring appeal and a strong market that continues to attract international airlines.
A Symbol of Growing Tourism and Cultural Connections
The launch of a daily service between New Delhi and Denpasar by Vistara on 1st December is particularly notable. It marks the first direct flight between Bali and India, a significant step in strengthening the cultural and tourism bonds between these two majority Hindu regions. This development has been eagerly anticipated and warmly welcomed by tourism leaders.
For Australian tourists, the journey to Bali has become more convenient. Batik Air’s new direct service from Adelaide to Bali and the upcoming Canberra-Bali flight in March 2024 means that travelers from eight Australian cities now have direct flight options.
Airport Developments
Bali’s airport is not just expanding its flight schedules; it is also scaling up its capacity. This includes accommodating the Airbus A380, the world’s largest commercial aircraft, which Emirates has been operating daily. The airport has made history as Indonesia’s first to land the Airbus A380, a testament to its growing status as a global travel hub.
