In a recent strategic development, Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, emphasized the vital role of the Indonesian Recreational Parks Association (PUTRI) in enhancing the tourism potential of village destinations across Indonesia.
This initiative, aimed at boosting tourist interest, was announced during the inauguration of PUTRI Bali’s 2023-2026 leadership at the Badung Regent’s Office.

Sandiaga Uno highlighted the unique strengths of these community-managed and tradition-rich village destinations. Their global recognition underlines their potential as key attractions, not just in Bali but throughout Indonesia.
“Village tourism has its own strength rooted in community and traditions, as it has received global recognition. Hence, these villages will become the prime attractions in our tourism, not just in Bali but across Indonesia,” Uno stated.
Moreover, Uno pointed out the central role of PUTRI in further developing Indonesia’s tourism potential. He urged the organization to actively participate in the development of village tourism, emphasizing the need to integrate these villages into the broader tourism framework.

The event also saw the launch of PUTRI Magazine and the commencement of the National Working Meeting of PUTRI.
Key figures accompanying Uno included Rizki Handayani, Deputy for Industry and Investment at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy; Martini M. Paham, Deputy for Resources and Institutional Affairs; and Syaifullah, Director of Industry Management.
Also in attendance were I Nyoman Giri Prasta, the Regent of Badung; Tjok Bagus Pemayun, Head of Bali Provincial Tourism Office; and I.G.A. Agung Inda Trimafo Yudha, the newly inaugurated Chairperson of PUTRI Bali for the 2023-2027 period.
